Mr Jeryl first noticed a small round patch of baldness at the side of his head in February 2008. Over the next 3 months not only did it grow bigger, it also spread to an area at the back of his head.

The skin on the bald patch was like new scar skin (just like a newly healed sore, recovering skin from injury). The few tiny hair on it (under microscope) are colourless, without pigment.

The original round area at the side of his head stopped growing bigger. The spread was controlled.

the round patch became smaller. Where hair had dropped off before, new hair began to emerge from the existing follicles. New hair grew beginning from and progressing from the outer circle. The bald spot got smaller until the whole patch is covered with new hair.

Mr Jeryl now continues to receive treatment at LaoFoYe to prevent recurrence and to suppress Alopecia Areata.
